In StudyLab, we refer to SS3
for example, as a class.
If you had SS3-Gold
, or SS2 Emerald
, this will be a class group.
If a teacher taught biology to SS3- Gold students, then you have a subject group called SS3 Gold- Biology
To setup these groups in StudyLab there are two ways to achieve this. Path 1 is easy but it helps you only add groups. Path two helps you add, remove and edit groups.
Path 1
This path is easy but provides less options and control
Navigate to the Dashboard by clicking dashboard on the side menu
JS1 — SS3 have already been created automatically
- Click on Add Subject for a selected class to open the add subject panel
- Type the name of a class group. (e.g js1 diamond). If you have only one class arm, you can leave it blank
- Select only subjects that that class does (e.g if SS3 Arts class doesn’t take physics, don’t select it but select subjects they do). Then scroll down and click submit.
- When the class group and subject group has been selected. You will see the subject cards by clicking on the class.

Path 2

On that page, there is the classes panel on the left, the subjects group panel below it, and the users table on the right
- To add a class group
To Add class groups, click the + button on top of the class panel - To add a subject group
To add a subject group, open a class, select a class group and click the + button on the top of the subject group panel - To edit the name of a class group or delete it
To edit the name of a class group, open the class and click the pencil icon beside your class of interest. This will open a dialogue box with ‘delete‘ and ‘edit‘ click on edit and change the name, then click submit.
If you want to delete the group, then click delete instead. (NB sometimes the system might take some time to delete a class group. When this happens log out, log in and try again. ) - To delete a subject group
select the class in the class panel. Then go to the subject group panel and identify the subject you want to delete. click the trash can button beside the subject. Note that you cannot delete mathematics subject without deleting the class group all together
